Altez Equestrian Projects is a part of the Altez Group, a specialist in agricultural and industrial construction. Over the past decades, the demand for dedicated stable construction increased proportionally with the demand for our horses. That in turn attracted riders to settle in our regions. There is nowhere else where proportionately as many horses are born, bred, trained, and brought in international competitions. Many of them find shelter in a stable with the signature of Altez.
If a rider is looking for a quality horse, he applies the same standards during his search for the accommodation of his beloved quadruped. The highest standards are rightly demanded for this too. In the equestrian world, people work in trust.
This is equally true when working with Altez Equestrian Projects. We too have had to build up our trust over the past 60 years by word of mouth. Our references are our best advertisement. The most successful riders worked and still work with Altez Equestrian Projects, by far the leading construction company in the equestrian sector.
Pieter Vanthienen has been designing and supervising the equestrian projects of Altez since 2003. Sport stables, stud farms, horse clinics, you dream it, Altez makes it happen. From permit application to integral completion. The total concept with an eye for safety and comfort for your horses to the aesthetic finish to the customer’s taste is the business model of Altez, where we supervise the integral project without any worries for the customer.
The projects evolved over the past decades form functional agricultural sheds to tasteful ecological stables integrated into nature. The first references from that era are under multiple Olympic medallist Tinneke Bartels in the Netherlands and two-time Olympic champion Franke Sloothaak from Germany.
Also under the first stable of Ludo Philippaerts and Jan Tops, Olympic champion of Barcelona, is the signature of Geerkens-Hippico, which we now know as Altez Equestrian Projects, which also signed stud farm Zangersheide and world champion Jos Lansink. Current top riders such as Pieter Devos and Niels Bruynseels are also building with Altez.
Top athletes always want to perform better. It is inherent in breeders, owners, and riders that they constantly want to breed, buy, or ride the better horse. This existential quest for that one unique horse with which to stand out, they extend into the accommodation of their passion.
In all respects, the bar is continuously raised, making Altez Equestrian Projects a trendsetter. In consultation with our (inter)national clients, each new project is a unique quest. This creates a cross-pollination between the expertise of Altez and new ideas from the client.
No obstacle is too high for Altez Equestrian Projects. Our references speak for themselves. Although there are practical limitations. The total concept of the turnkey principle can be realised in a radius of 500 km around our home base in Oudsbergen.
Which does not mean that there is no recourse to the know-how and decades of experience of Altez Equestrian Projects, which is consulted from America to Saudi Arabia.
Architects possess enough creativity to meet the client’s aesthetic wishes. Linking aesthetics to the spatial layout and functionality of a horse stable is the added value and core business of Altez Equestrian Projects.
An additional advantage of our expertise and experience is that we know what is feasible and achievable in the Benelux and surrounding regions, for example, just in terms of permits. That is why we are often involved from the start of a project and make a feasibility study.
This is how Altez evolved into project development. When existing farms cease their activities, we are regularly asked whether we can give the existing infrastructure another purpose. In that case, we enter into a partnership with the owner to reform his infrastructure into a stud-farm or a stable, for example.
That practice is in line with Altez Construction Group regularly working with investors developing business parks. We are increasingly asked by real estate agents to upgrade existing stables, to convert them to the requirements of the market: a larger indoor arena, more accommodation for the horses, a more efficient layout of the stable. Altez tailers everything to the customer and the horse.
Your stable as a reflection of the quality of your breeding and horses, that is the approach of Altez Equestrian Projects. Our projects reflect the personal experience and character of the client. That is the big difference from a corporate industrial project. All our employees live and breathe horses. We know what is best for them and match that to the client’s taste.
With our hundreds of references, we can already give clients a precise idea of the different styles, colours and material choices. An indisputable advantage is that we can work on a turnkey basis, with Altez supervising the integral project. Not just of the stable, but also of the interior that includes lighting, outdoor arena, landscaping, fencing. As a result of our long-standing experience, we know what is best for your horse and match that to your taste.
